transmission
my tranny is grinding pretty bad, i was thinking of getting rid of the car completely, but i love my car, so im gonna keep it, but i remember seeing a high performance transmission online for our cars before on some website, but i cant find it now, does anyone know how much it costs to get a transmission completely rebuilt, or where i can buy a brand new "high performance" transmission for my car(02 ex 5speed) i kno our cars arent classified as high performance, but thats what the one i found before was classified as, but i cant find it now, i think it was only $1000 too if i remember right
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

if you saw something for $1000 chances are it was an overhaul kit to make an existing one stronger.

i havent seen a stronger tranny offered for our cars yet. I have seen some rebuild kits that claim to strengthen the auto tranny, but i have yet to see anything for the 5-speed.
If you found something for the 5 speed, please point me in its direction. I have a feeling that im going to have to buy 6-packs of trannys when i finally get my motor back from darton.

your best bet is to go get a used one from the junk yard. i had my tranny fixed for around 800 and it was not a rebuild. just the reverse gear fell into the tranny couldn't back up for months, had to push it out. i wanted to sell it when i heard how much it was to fix, thinking back to it a used tranny was only 350 out this way should have got that one. oh yea i have a '01

yea, thanks, but my cars a 5-speed, not a/t, and i dont know, today when me and my friends were fixing my axle we decided to bleed my clutch fluid, and my tranny doesnt grind anymore, i guess the clutch didnt have enough fluid and had air pockets in the line and that was causing the grinding
