Actually it would be practical...
Especially for whole shots...however you'd have to have a lot more hp then we have now...the squating effect will reduce wheel spin in the whole shot and you get a better launch.
Good question.

I was thinking the same thing, I think it would be better in my case, cause where the weather changes on an almost daily basis, and some roads are not good to be driving on, also I live on a Peninisula and I have to take a boat to get home and the ramps on it are sometimes steep depending on the tide (I live in the highest tides in the world, Fundy Bay) and I would like to be able to raise and lower my car to the conditions.

i heard riding on bags were pretty comfortable as long as you dont ride with no air in them... i've been looking into this lately, they have bolt on parts for our car... i know it isn't good to use air bags but they have strut bags and air cylinders. dunno how air cylinders work tho... for strut bags, you just replace the springs/strut with it. hook it up to valves, tank and compressor... you dont even need the valve, tank, compessor, those are only to raise/lower with a push of a button, but then whats the point of getting bags if your not gunna do that
I had bags on my s-10 and Ive put bags on a 96 accord and a 99 eclipse. I f you spend the money and do it right youll get a great ride. I would call the HACK SHACK to get info. There probably the best in the biz and I talked to them about 2 mths ago and they said they should have a bolt on kit in soon. there's a guy that used to come here called lowonair who has a custom bag kit on his 2001 civic. his website is low on air you might email him and ask him. he lives in PA ang I met him at NOPI nationals last year and he drove his car from PA to Ga and said the ride wasnt that bad. I hope this helps. If you have any ?'s PM me and maybe I can help you. I have alot of experience with this stuff.

i just called hack shack. they dont have a premade kit yet but they can make one for $1700. it's $2500 installed. they use strut bags in back and air cylinders in front(or was it the other way around). they use their own bags n use a thomas 315 compressor. not sure what kind of valves but looking at the compressor, probably a cheap one... if i'm correct, the compressor could fill up a 3 gallon tank in 4-5 mins. n a 3 gallon tank should be enough to raise your car 1 and a half times(from lowest point to higest point) before you have to fill the tank up again. n i think it takes like a minute to raise the car(with this kit) compared to couple seconds with a better setup.

just talked to drop zone motorsports (http://www.dzmotorsports.com) n they said their kits should be out around MAY. n it'll run about $2000. the struts alone are 1700 n the kit is 300(tank, firestone compressor). i think it includes manual valves? if you want faster ones, they run 100 a peice.
Jester,
Booya says that is a lame idea. I have to agree! You should spend more time fixing display drivers and less time dreaming.
If you're talking about air bags, they leak after a little while. Also, the hose connections will rott after a while and one day you could be stuck without a replacement. If you want hydrolics, now, that's even worse.

i'm guessing your one of them bolt on people... we may dream, but once they come true, everyone will be jockin. who would have ever thought of suicide doors or shaved doors. someone just like you probably said the same thing, but look now, there are so many cars with shaved door habdles... n eventually everything breaks down. the engine, the shocks, anything n everything... n how they supposed to rot? the hoses you find in our engine bay doesnt rot do they?
Look at the weather you in. I'm from an area where the temperature ranges from -30 in the winter to +35 in the summer. Throw in salt on the roads in winter and you have a deadly combination. Over time, air bags do wear out and break down in our climate.
