deer whistles
deer whistles
after recently hitting a deer and doing some serious, insurance covered, damage to my civic, i am now wondering about deer whistles. Do they work? how do they work? how do you use them?
Thanks for any info

My understanding is they emit a high pitched whistle that only some animals can hear
I believe they were developed somewhere in the southern US where deer/auto collisions are a problem
I use them on my car, but just because I haven't hit anything doesn't mean they work
I stick them in the grill where they aren't too visible
On a side note, they aren't supposed to work on moose because moose don't hear that high a frequency

omg.... i never imagined a moose crossing the road.... i thought hitting a 150+ lb buck would be a disaster, but a GIANT moose!?!?!?
i'm sorry to anyone who has to watch for moose on the road..
but anyway, thumbs up on the deer whistles?
