Steering wheel coating wearing off

Has anybody had a problem with the coating wearing off the steering wheel or is it just my death grip on the wheel? Its worn down to the spongy material and little pieces keep rubbing off now. It's getting really annoying. Anybody recommend any steering wheel covers that are comfortable and look good?

I spent like $19.99 for some really leather steering wheel cover when I first got my car. After 3 years of driving, it is still very nice. The worse is just fade in color at 7 o'clock where I always keep my fingers at. Plus, I put my club backward (keyhole faces the dash) to avoid scratches on the "H".

^I was thinking the same thing, however, all the civics in his pictures are hatches.

As for the steering wheel, I would just buy an after-market one. I think covers look cheesy.

Wheelskins makes a good quality cover, I would say the OEM cover is most likely made by them.

The factory stitching is the "baseball stitch" and requires 2 sets of needle and thread.

The only thing I suggest with wheelskins is maybe maybe measure and order a custom cut size for a tighter seam, and the colors that they show on their site are way off from actual color. Black should be safe.

Those factory leather wrap look really nice. Just afraid I would destroy the leather very quickly.

And yes, the aftermarkets do make the wheel quite a bit thicker.

same thing with mine. It's wearing but it's not flaking off yet. I might get a Momo wheel.
