2.25" straight pipe to rsx-s muffler
okay i'm changing my exhaust set up. is having a 2.25" straight pipe to an rsx-s muffler gonna still be quiet? not sure how many people have done this. thoughts??
it wont be crazy loud, but loud enough to hear it at high revs. one great reason why it will be loud is because there will be no resonator (since you doing straight pipes).
i say do the rsx muffler and 2.25" straight pipe, it wont be THAT loud. and plus, it'd look sex

It doesn't matter how straight the pipe is, the sound is reduced by the resonator and the muffler. The stock Type S exhaust is quiet by itself because it is an exhaust that must comply with OEM regulations. By removing the resonator and leaving the muffler alone, it decrease the amount of noise reduction. Most aftermarket exhaust systems use bullet type resonator which are not very big compared to the stock resonator, also their mufflers are smaller compared to the stock RSX unit. The RSX muffler is bigger than the civic muffler, so the sound of it without a resonator might be comparable to the sound of an aftermarket unit. I have a RSX Type S exhaust in my civic, but still have the resonator and the sound is as quiet as stock. You can try it and if you don't like it you can add a small bullet type resonator to help reduce some noise.
