Just use an ex header.
Have him buy a odb II cat
Then go to muff shop and have them put it in.
They will have to make a down pipe with the new cat between the header and the lx exhaust.
Then the secondary o2 sensor wires will need to extended to fit behind the cat.

If your emission laws are coo with than go ahead and but one.
You may also need ot a O2 Sensor simulator to fool the cars Ecu from throught a "check engine light"

it looks like a plug and play action under the hood where the O2 sensor socket plugs in
just unplug the sensor after the cat
and then put the O2 Sim in the middle of the where it was plugged in and the sensor wire.
