Wiper Blades

I need to get new wiper blades and was wondering what everyone is using and/or recomends.

Right now I have Bosch Microedge Excel. They work great when you first get them, but seem to break down pretty quickly, and leave what i am assuming is a silicone layer on the windshield.

I am looking at getting the PIAA wiper blades, but havnt heard anything about them other than what PIAA says about them.

One more thing, anyone know anything to get off that layer that is on the windshield?
