revo ss and synchros

i searched a bunch of the revo threads and now and again someone would mention that the revo ss would mess up the synchros. is this at all true, and what happens when the synchros go bad?

The synchros on our trannys are so messed up that I bet the majority of civics have those problems and since alot of people have revo ss that they could just say that revo ss caused it. The revo ss only changes the angle of the gear shift cable making it a smaller pull or push when shifting. Shifting too fast can cause damage to your synchros so a short shifter may be a cause there. I have the revo ss and had to have half my transmission replaced due to blown synchros. Not sure if it was a factory defect or if the revo ss caused my shifts to be to fast for the synchros. I'd hope with the newer civics that they fixed this problem on the transmissions. What year civic do you have?

I've got an '04, complete with the typical tranmission problems... hard shift into 2nd, and popping in and out of 2nd and reverse. But as usual, "it's normal."

my only problem is it kicks out of first when going into second and the odd synchro problem. sometimes won't go into first unless i put it into second. it does feel a little notchy.

Second gear is tempermental on all the new trannies. It was a bug that they never fixed because it wasn't a huge problem. Mine just kinda slips out when I go to shift gears. One thing about having the revo though, is i don't grind the gears as much as I did before.

You all need to take ur cars to dealers and get it fixed. Its a TSB so they may good will it or fix it under warranty. Be prepared to fight though if your car has mods. Took almost a month of arguing to get mine fixed under warranty.

I have the revo ss and I never had a problem with it. Probably one of the best things I bought for the vic and I shift like a madman, my tranny works great.

You've got the advantage of having an '01 which the TSB applies to. I've taken mine in with the same problem and they say it's normal.
