high flow cat vs resonator

In the spring i plan on making a custom midpipe for my 2001 ex , i have a magnaflow rear section already. The pipe will be 2.25'' , what i would like to know is should i put a resonator on or a high flow cat. If so i looked on ebay and cannot seem to find the cat for my car (2001 ex) andybody know where to get one for a decent price. Last question being does anybody have a custom exaust wit a magnaflow muffler , how does it sound ? loud ? deep ? sound clips ? thanks

jttegx has a spectacular aura aboutjttegx has a spectacular aura about
www.meganracing.com offers a test pipe for the EX models. its a downpipe after the top portion of your header and replaces the OEM cat. the con of it its 2.5" piping which is too large of piping for our civics and the malfunction indicator lamp going off (which will go off either way with any hi flow cat or catless ppl). their about $100 ish on eBay.

your overall exhaust tone will be louder probably by 30%+? maybe a little performance.. better throttle response and min. hp gains.

if you eliminate your cat and go to that large diameter of piping be aware you may lose torque as you elimate your back pressure.

and you then make your car illegal to operate on the streets. By losing the cat and replacing it with a resonator, you make it illegal. Also your emissions come into play, you wont be able to get inspected. Stick with a cat converter of some sort whether it be stock or aftermarket, just make sure it is a cat converter and not some resonator.

agreed....all my cars have always had highflow cats (except my old rotaries which didn't come with cats from the factory.
