I just did some for fun.

1. bake lights in oven 250F
2. pull apart, remove chrome insert.
3. mask off the singal and parking lights
4. prep with fine sandpaper
5. spray with primer
6. spray with hi temp flat black ceramic paint
7. put back together
8. stick in oven, press the halves together

"Really easy"!? I dont think so! It can be a real pain in the ***. If you arent careful enough (sometimes you cant help but screw up), the black sticky stuff that holds the headlights together will make a mess and ruin your light housing. also- dont even think about cleaning it off of the silver plastic inside the housing- the silver will come right off like it was dust!

On top of that- you have to deal with fogging issues. which (like many have experienced) will force you to open your headlights back up and put some more goop in there, or hot glue gun it like i did!

Go for it, its a good experience, but in the long run- unless youre some sort of DIY god, youre better off spending the $100 or so on ones that are already done for you.

ah yes. the silver paint problem wont apply to you. instead u have to worry about getting a nice even coat of paint on it

This was one of my first mods, when I didn't know anything. Cleared my own lights, no problem, did another set, and another (coupe and sedan) then the black ones. It's super easy and I've never had the goo run off. It stayed in those channels and we sealed em up using the same goo.

i took apart my aftermarkets to paint inside same color as car... its fairly easy if you have patience and knowledge... when peeling peices apart be careful and take your time dont be too forceful. also even after you rebake them to put them back together id buy a little bit of sealent frome home depot and just poor a thin beed into the headlight b4 joining them... mine get water in them like i pay them to .. because i didnt heat it up b4 joining
