I agree with 4drcivic2k1. I currently use RL and have no complaints whatsoever. If you didn't want to spend the money or the funds aren't available I'd suggest using MC.
M1 would be my second choice behind RL if you could swing the cost. Otherwise, I'd go with MC. It's a very good oil.
But change it every 5k, OK? The Honda engine is durable but not immune to damage from abuse.

3k is old school and it's what Iffy Lube wants you to believe. The truth is that today's oils are so much improved that 5k is a good interval. Consumer Reports found that 6k in New York cabs was a good interval although I'm suggesting 5k because it's easier to keep track of on the odometer.
If you were using a high quality syn you likely could go to 7.5k but to be safe, use a good quality oil and change it every 5k. Any sooner and you're just throwing good oil away.

10k...i change mine every 3-4k. i know its old school like flashlightboy said but 10k seems too high. even thou the manual for the car says i think 7k to change it. but i drive 45 miles to work jusy one way. so thats give or take 90 miles a day. when is it really the right time to change the oil?
exturbo,
If your 90 miles is mostly freeway then you can comfortably and safely go to 7.5k. Freeway driving is the easiest kind on your engine and engine oil. The 5w-20 oils, especially the syns, are so well engineered that 7.5k of freeway driving wouldn't cause a problem. If you want to use a high quality blend then the MC 5w-20 will make it to 5k and protect your engine very well along the way. It's also cheaper than any syn if cost is a consideration.
The manual does suggest 10k but it also suggests to use only Honda fluids, Honda wipers, Honda parts, Honda oil and so on. Choosing the right interval is based on your driving and how hard you stress the motor.
Bottom line - Extend your interval to 5k regardless of the oil. Your wallet will be happier and you won't be doing any harm to your engine.

thanks man.
yeah im driving all highway.but the thing is when its comes to my car i would rather spend the money on a oil change since i am putting alot of miles oin my car. its seems like i burn alot of oil.in the summer i checked my oil when it was close to the oil change and i was low on oil. so i mean idk if its the weather, but i fell comfortable doing that just so i know im not going to blow the car up. but i do understand its a lil more money to be doing that every 3 to 4k, but now i have a turbo setup, so i wanna take as muich care of this car then i have ever..and i wash and check everything atleast once a week.does synthic oil last longer?or better for a turbo car?

X,
I didn't know you had a turbo because that, IMO, changes things drastically. If you're constantly running boost 5w-20 is going to get beat to death and I'm not surprised that you have consumption problems.
The turbo puts in your engine in another class similar to a DOHC VTEC and you need a thicker oil. I'd suggest that you run German Castrol 0w-30 (Autozone) or even the M1 0w40. These oils are approved for the VW 1.8L turbo and meet long term wear and cleanliness standards.
These are good syn oils that your engine will benefit from especially since you have a turbo. I'm not surprised that your engine is burning oil because 5w-20 wasn't designed for turbo use. You might want to try M1 Racing oil which is a but harder to find or you can give some consideration to the M1 Truck and SUV. Don't be afraid of the name because what's in the bottle is good for you engine.
