Mods Longgevity
Just a quick question. I've been thinking about modding the hell out of the civic or buying an EVO, now the civic will be mine in about a year and thus no car payment which means i can do whatever i want with that 330 dollars a month. However if i get an EVO ill just have a car payment and be at the power level i want. But ill loose the civic. So with that explained here is my question. If i get a turbo, exhaust, intake and whatever other engine mods that will give me some power will they port to an engine swap?
Basically what im trying to say is that if i start putting money into the civic, im going all the way, this aint going to be no half-a** job. I mean ill swap a k20 into it, and if another engine comes out in 2 or 3 years which fits into the car, i might swap that into it, just to get more power - or i could get the EVO and be content.
SO i guess its 2 questions:
EVO or Fully chopped and hooked up 7th gen?
Will the mods for the 17 motor port to other honda motors?
------ GUESS THAT WASNT THAT QUICK ------

OMG def go with the evo, but watch out most of them are lemons! Mitsu has a big recall cover up, and who ever funds mitsu (I cant remember, its one of the big companys) cut funding on all the mitsu cars becuse there loosing more money than there making.. And good luck with the aftermarket mods, once you pu any thing on they void the warrenty becuse they say you are "RACING".
Also if you enter any auto X or drag comp there goes you warrenty too!
I say if ur throwin down 30g's go with the sti! I think the sti looks better to, the evo looks like a matchbox car to me.

haha.. but beforewarned that buying an evo isnt always good.. lets say u buy the car and do some modifications to the car...lets say u put in an intake and tranny goes bad a few months later.. u bring it in for repair and they will say that it was due to ur modifications to ur car... mitsubishi is being strict about there evo and other cars being modded for race and coming back for repairs due to aftermarket parts... basically something blows its comin straight out ur pocket.. BTW.. there was a whole article about this in this months issue of import tuner and it was also brought up in our local newspaper about irate customers who are being accused of racing there evo and coming back for repairs.. i think thats why i like my honda dealer.. i can modify the sheit outta it... if tranny goes bad then they will replace it causei have nothing aftermarket connected to it
evo, except for the following things:
mitsu will NOT warranty your car whatsoever, even if you keep it stock, they'll claim racing is the cause of everything.
insurance is a bitch.
parts are expensive.

if you get the evo be careful about the aftermarket parts you buy for it...i've heard that they have adaptive ecu's that don't respond well to some aftermarket parts...correct me if i'm wrong

Evo may not last as long as the Civic... but with power and mods and speed, things can get nasty. But personally I rather have a turbo Lancer (EVO) over the turbo Civic... even though in interior is better in a Civic.
yea..if i buy a evo down the line.. it will be fixed up and it will basically be a night crawler.... coming out when the sun goes down... looking for its next victim... and also to go tracks.. other than that i dont want to be daily driving that thing cause it'll break down faster than u can say "honda" when compared to a boosted civic
I'll flip out and kill people.
