Replacing Cat with resonator

I had this crazy (or not so crazy) idea pop in my head. Would you get the same benefit of removing your cat and replacing it with a high flow resonator so it's not so loud? I swear i seen a car mod video that showed underneath some car and it seemed that where the cat's should have been there were resonators. ???

Well most of the time, when you replace your cat with a straight pipe, it will make things alot louder. Not sure about a resonator though. I dont see much of a purpose though, it will be quieter with the cat converter on. It all depends on what else you have on there. But also, it is illegal to not have a cat converter on your car. I am not sure if that applies to canada since you are there. But in the states, it is illegal. Best bet would be to get the megan racing high flow cat since most people have said all it really is, is a resonator.

Also, you wont pass inspection unless you have a cat converter on your car.

yea i wasn't planning on doing it. it was just an idea that popped in my head since a resonator is cheaper then a cat. From what i've read too all of them need the o2 sim as well.
