Cost of installing + painting a body kit

My local shop said it'll cost about $500 to paint and insatll a Wings West G5 4 piece body kit. Isn't it a bit too much? I mean I know you have to take off the wheels to install it and all but $500? and also he said the paint for the kit costs like $200 a quart since it's special cause of the urethane material, and that regular paint would start chipping if you put that on. WHat are your inputs and what's the truth?

That is cheap. Some bodykits need to be modified to fit perfect.........any cracks and gaps need to be fixed. I would expect to pay no less than $800.

You get what you pay for

yea think about it, I think that is pretty cheap because usually to paint those pieces will cost you about $200-$400, then having them install it will be another $150-$300 if you want it looking good. But like civic01vtec said, you get what you pay for. Make sure if you do do it, that you get some kind of warranty on the paint job incase anything happens. And please, please tell me it isnt macco?

u know what though... be careful that u dont have a 2 tone car.. like the kit slightly lighter or darker than the car.. i spent $1000 and just got the whole car repainted stock color and had then take out any dings and stuff... would have been $1500 to change colors so i just wanted to save money

yea if your car comes back like that, dont pay for the work. make sure he is using the same color code and not just a plain color.
