I have pretty much stock civic coupe 01 black. Will i need to paint this in order for it to look right? It comes black, but I am pretty positive its not civic black (whatever its really called). Any one with a black vic installed this with out painting it??? Is it quality and how much do you think it would cost to paint it?

paint it. that is not the best quality by far. that appears to be abs plastic. it is basically on the bottom of the quality materials list.

i have an abs black front type-r style lip unpainted..



i seen couple rides other than civic riding around with unpainted front lips. i guess they look ok. im thinking about painting mines glossy black to match with my headlights.

that looks nice... was it hard to install? and did you get side skirts or did it not really need it ( i cant really tell because of the shadows)... thanks for the help though.

i bought the front lip seperately.
rear = oem lip
sides = oem lip
front = abs type-r style lip. bought off a member here.


my front lip is held on with 4 screws =| i think i need to glue it or put some double side tape on their. 2 screws on one side, 2 on other. mine lip isnt so secure, but in the neighborhood i live in, i guess i can trust this block because its an "neighborhood watch" area. not much theives here anyways. but i still check on my car once in a while just in case.

^your right. their was an misunderstanding couple months ago about the front type-r style lip and this RS one i have. their was one website where they were selling the "Civic 01-03 Front Lip Abs plastic type-r style". turns out its really not the type-r style like the one you have and it was the one i have. so im guessing my lip is "Rs type-A front lip"


back on topic:
im trying to paint my front lip a glossy shiny black. would spray can primer, spray can glossy black and a clear coating work?
