Resonator?

How much of a difference does this make in how loud your muffler is, if it is cut off?

if you never drive on the highway it might be alright. I personally hate exhausts that sound like insects..

My brother ran without a resonator in his car, and a short time without cat.... it was ok, but annoyingly loud on road trips. To me, it sounds more aggresive. And yes, cops will love to pull you over for that 1.

^it depends when listening to the sound. ppl love that weed whacker noise and some like it only deep. its all opinion when commenting on exhaust notes.

but to the person whose worrying about the resonator noise, id personally keep it because its gonna be pretty loud and cops will hassle you from left to right. save yourself the trouble and keep it

my catback sorta sounds weed eater-ish going up the driveway, but any other driving its just fine and very deep sounding too, the other day this ricer pulls up next to me, after being 2-3 cars behind me at a RED light and peeling his tires..(assuming he used the e-brake) but i hear him squeeling his tires, then about 3 lights later he pulls up next to me and downshifts revving the hell outta his engine, and his exhaust was so high pitched it made me jump, it sounded terrible, i dunno wtf he had on that hatch, it was a late 90s hatch i think..

IMO any catback on ebay would be better than just taking off a stock resonator replacing it w/ pipe, never heard one w/ an aftermarket muffler w/o resonator, but i love my catback, Megan racing on ebay, got a decent deal. Tsudo catbacks are hella cheap on ebay..

I had an exhaust made and it doesn't have one.

But on longe trips it can be a tad annoying.

Also I see cops all the time and have no problems.

If I did get drama for it I would say a Harley is louder than my car and people are alright with why not my car.

I got a magnaflow muffler too and its really low when I'm just cruising thats the reason I asked this question because i was thinking of getting my resonator cut off but after reading all comments I changed my mind.
