Resonator Question Help

Yo I need to know if I remove the resonator out of my car will my my exhaust sound louder and still keep the same sound or will it sound completely different and louder... I have The Skunk2 exhaust, it sounds nice but its not that loud so I was wondering if I remove the resonator will it still keep its nice sound and be louder? Also will removing the resonator cause any damage to the car? Is it legal to have no resonator? Can I put the resonator back on if I dont like how it sounds if I decide to take it off? I know its a lot of questions so just asnwer the ones ya can. Thanks

It will definitely be louder, but it might lose it's low tone. I have seen when people do this, and it makes their car sound like fart.

I think the resonator does nothing but help muffle the sound. I couldn't see any negative effects steming from its removal. I am sure the exhaust tone would be noticely louder and would think it would be more high-pitched, but not sure. If you have a skunk2 catback and it came with a resonator, leave it on there. If it didn't need to be there, skunk would have left it out. I don't think the law says anything about resonators.

if you take it out the exhaust will be louder but still deep, it doesn't get high pitched until you take the cat out

Don't sweat it. You can always weld it back in. I don't have mine and love the sound.
