Short-Shifter Installation
I'm putting a custom-fabricated short-shifter into my 2000 Honda Civic LX (D16Y7) and was hoping for some advice as I've never done such an install before.
I understand that I have to perform a good deal of this install from under the car, and was wondering if a simple jack were enough or if I'd need something more to lift the car. All of the installation pics I've seen have been on the hydraulic lifts found in mechanic's garages!
I do not have any instructions for installation due to having this piece custom-fabricated to my specifications, so any information on the installation would help greatly and be more than appreciated.
Thank you all in advance!

jacks that can support the proper weight will be fine. one on each side as long as its enough to give you clearance to get underneath the car.
if you search online you should be able to find some installation with pictures.. this website is mainly for 2001+ so you might want to try other websites.
try www.honda-tech.com
if you dont usually handle mechanical install.. you might encounter some problems..
and if your exhaust gets in the way and its too rusted to take off.. that may be some problems too..
I've installed some without taking off the exhaust and it makes the job more difficult, but it can be done with some help.
