Convert AEM CAI to SRI??

Convert AEM CAI to SRI??
If i leave out the bottom piece on my AEM Cold Air Intake and just leave it as a Short ram intake, will this work? If it fits, will this negatively affect performance? Has anybody tried this before?

Just throw it away and get a better intake. Sooner or later AEM products break or ruin your car.
Toanswer your question, yes. People change it from cold to short all the time.
