i just bought a used dc sports header for my 03 civic ex and i was wondering if i needed to order anything else before i try to bolt it on. the only things that came with the header was the instructions and the header itself. any ideas?

I believe you need a new gasket..I'm not sure if the stock gasket will work.

I thought the stock gasket will work with all aftermarket headers..

I think it's just a good idea to get a new gasket everytime you take something like that off and put it back on.. Anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

I have the dc header. If you want, you can go to honda and get a new gasket for the header. Thats what I did. When you take the stock header off, you will have a compressed gasket to reuse. A better choice would be to get a uncompressed gasket to use with the new header. If you decide to get a new gasket, you need a exhaust manifold gasket and a doughnut gasket for the install. It's your choice.

an un comressed gasket would be better but it wont leak i used the factory one for my turbo manifold and its ok. but make sure you tourqe them down to the propper specs or the flange that goes to the motor will warp!!

here I will answer any questions about the DC header. k

It sucks ***, sell it to someone that has no clue and save the money for either a hp or kamikazi, or a sf turbo kit. Why would you want something that is barely bigger than the stock header?

^^

I know right, You're in Florida man, get a catless setup.

That's one of the great things about living in Florida: no inspection, no emission, no worries. The cops down there are slack.

I'm from Panama City Beach, FL. I was out on the strip drinking when I was like 15, riding around in the bed of trucks with a cooler of beer. When/if we ever got pulled over, the cops didn't even ID anybody, they just made us poor all the beer out....so we had to go buy more (economic stimulation =þ).

Then I moved to Virginia Beach, VA. The cops up here are like uptight. Always giving everyone a hard time. Busting down keggers and IDing EVERYBODY as they walk out the door. Then busting every person over the age of 21 at the party. Crazy ****....it pisses me off. Allright, enough ranting. Don't take living in Florida for granted folks, I miss it.

$hit, I just install my TCS from dc sports and it still sound like $hit, now it's leaking air from the bottom part of the dc header. do I need new gasket?

Im going to do a k20 swap hopefully soon, I just found the perfect engine today, someone wreak their rsx type-s with only 1000 miles of it, total loss, I'm going to buy his engine hopefully around 2500 since it was a friends friend.

did your car have a lot of miles on it? I installed my dc header without many miles on the car and the gasket looked like it was perfectly fine. However I almost forgot to put back the o ring, or i guess it's called the donut. Anyways if If I forgot that I would have had a leak. Hopefully you didn't forget anything

BTW guys, i like the dc header, it's better than stock, and it's street legal. So what it doesn't add hp really, neither do any of cheap bolt ons.

the gasket is the thin piece of metal right, that goes on the top part of the header right, the bottom part needs the o ring and thats it right????
