Roll cage besides custom????
Roll cage besides custom????
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a roll cage for a 03 2dr? I know apc make show tubes but they are not the real deal. I can always have my buddy fabricate it but I was wondering if anybody has seen them around on the net or has one for sale. Thanks!!!!!!

I did a quick google search, and found the bar, however, do you know if it is a straight bolt in, or is there drilling required (I would imagine there would be) Seeing as one of my friends just crashed his WRX, and another of mine crashed his RSX, I think safety is very important, and might consider getting one of these since they're actually not as expensive as I imagened they were.

driving too fast around corners with deep ditches
driving too fast around corners with steep dropoff's....
pretty much any one of those would cause a car to flip if it was going to fast.
I don't want to crash, and I hope I never do, but if the event does happen, I'd like to have a roll cage.
A roll cage will prevent the car from crushing you (mainly the top of the car), or at least that is the theory....

um.... APC show tubes do not meet any safty standard of any racing body (look at them, theres no cross members at all, that thing would crush instantly!). autopower roll bars and cages however are well respected in the racing comunity.

Renamazazo, I'd spring for the Race Roll bar for a street driven car. you loose a little functionality of the back seats, but the extra cross members make it safer then just the roll bar.
Vs
I believe that autopower also allows for an opton of a removable cross brace. on the Race bar. so you could have the functionality of the roll bar when you're not racing and the safty of the race bar when you are...

there was a joke? ( I keep forgetting that sarcasim doesnt translate well in text...)
any way, did a little searcing on these "show bars" and heres the best quote EVER...
"NOT INTENDED FOR ROLLOVER PROTECTION. Show Bars Only!"
gotta love apc
I wonder how many kiddies out there have that crap and actually thinks it would help in a crash?

The removable cross brace sounds like the way to go, because with the permanant one, you would lose ALL the functionality of the back seat since it would be unsafe for passengers to sit back there cause they'd collide with the bar, should the car crash.
