I got one off ebay last year for about $50. Took about 2 months to get. He claimed it would be shipped in 7 days. Emailed the guy alot. Never got an honest reply. Later I find out the guy is allergic to the products that make the cf lid. When it finally arrives, it is an oem metal lid covered with cf. It was not all cf. Very dissapointed. The resin around edges were not smoothed and the cf does not wrap around at all. Just the surface is cf. Beware, because the ebay seller changed his username shortly thereafter. He also started making A, B, C pillar cf covers.

u really gotta see the item in person in order to know what ur gettin. ebay is a easy way to somehow get scammed/gyped/ripped/etc from.

how does someone get allergic to carbon fiber?

I bought one from the guy thats selling them on ebay now. It looks good. It has Carbon Fiber molded to a stock door, but it looks clean. Im happy with mine.

How can you tell real carbon fiber from fake? Like if I was to get the gas lid in CF, I want the whole piece in CF, not some sticker of CF over the stock lid, because I could do that myself. Thanx.

I do know what it is, I just asked how you can tell real from fake like if you see it on ebay.

Only real way is looking at a close up of the weave. Fake stufff is just blakc and grey squares. Real CF has a texture to it. ALmost a demensional texture to it.
