when the maintance req light goes on, it means that you need maintenance, lol. Like, changing belts, rotating tires, checking brake pads, yada yada yada. Check engine light is something you might getting after putting in an after market header, or something like that. If its maintenace, I suggest lookin at your manual, and seeing how many miles you have to figure out what exactly has to get checked out.

Read your manual--it tells you how to reset it. Comes on to tell you it's time for another optional dealer rape. This has been posted WAY too many times.

You've probably already heard this but you can turn it off quite easily. With your car off, push the button on the left side of the gauges. Hold it there then turn on the car, but don't start it. If you keep your finger there a few more seconds the light should disappear.

It's a simple mileage based indicator.

It goes off after a certain number of miles no matter what

1. With the car off, hold down the trip button.
2. Start the car, still holding the trip button down. (for 10 seconds).
3. Done, problem solved
