I just put on my ceramic header and hi flow cat with stock exhaust(on its way) and me CEL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) has come on and its not going off. I read in the manual that it can damage the ECU and fuel engagments. IS there anything i can do? Please help!

Rep Power: 290 did you already put on your "high flow cat"?
if so what kind is it? most are not really high flow they are straight through resonators.
and if you do have the high flow on then you are not getting the weird fuel map. that comes on from the first o2 sensor not the second one.
the cel you are getting is normal.
another thing you could check is that little button on the home page called the search button it works very well in this situation

Rep Power: 0 the cat is catless, just a resonator. i have noticed more than anything else that in 2 days i have gone through more gas than i would in a week, almost half tank. is it the sensor before or after the cat that causes the MIL light to come on, and where does the simulator go? and WANNABEFAST, how would i go about getting one of them simulators.

Rep Power: 0 typerboi your ECU thinks something is wrong with the Air/Fuel ratio so its doing what its programmed to do to make up for it. Just get the o2 simulator or leave it. My CEL has been on for a long *** time, and my car is fine.

Rep Power: 0 So whats the difference between the O2 sim VS. the MIL eliminator. it sounds lik the Mil Elim simply just keeps the light from coming on and that the O2 sim actually makes the car believe there is a cat. is this true. Oh ya, is my gas milage down the tube now with the straight thru cat?

Rep Power: 0 Well, the CEL does effect your performance. If you wait about a week, I will have a DIY on how to remove the o2 sensor completely, becuase that's how my car is running right now, without the CEL on.

Rep Power: 351 I just asked some ppl from a shop, and they say it doesn't hinder performance nor does it affect the ECU....i mean if the CEL comes un under normal driving conditions than that would probably affect stuff

Rep Power: 0 When the CEL comes on in our cars because of the header, the o2 sensor isn't getting the right voltage, which means it's recieving a wrong reading. This wrong readuing triggers the ECU to go into action and put less fuel into your engine in hopes that it doesn't "blow up". So yes, your car may be pulling harder but definately not as hard as it can. When I installed my header I went from 16.01 to 16.3's all day. Now I have it off, I'ma head down to the track and see what I can't pull off.

Rep Power: 0 i just purchased the O2 Sim. mainly because i can't stand that light but also because i know our ECU isnt just going to sit back and do nothing as its getting some crazy reading, such as no CAT present.
