i just put in Amsoil 5w-20. I didn't notice any power change but I did notice my car is quieter than it used to be on Honda 10W30. At 80mph it isn't nearly as loud.

I use the Royal Purple 5W30. It claims it adds horsepower. And it dropped my engine temperature by one bar. Kinda of pricey though!

i use royal purple 5w20 and i will actually get more Hp than you because my oil is thinner and it has to work less than the thicker oil to get parts moving. And I change every 2k-3k miles...I liek my oil fresh and clean all the time!

Mobil 1 makes 2 filters for our cars. The first is M-110 which is the thimble sized one that is on the cars. They also make the M-104 which is the oversized, but still acceptable, filter.
The little filter is 65mm in diameter and the oversized is 80mm and both have the Honda blessing. Honda published a memo that says that the larger filter can be used with their blessing. I use the M-104 filter myself. Until a couple of years ago the larger filter is all that Honda used.
In case anyone is interested, the larger filter is used for the S2000; they don't even recommend the little one. The 104 is a good filter and has about 40% more filtering media. Use it with confidence.
As far is oil is concerned, quite a few manufacturers make a syn 5W-20. Although their site needs updating, Redline makes one.
Mobil 1 makes a syn 0W-20 that is showing great results in used oil analysis. Mobil developed this oil in conjunction with Honda and Ford since they are the only manufacturers, at the moment, that are recommending this oil. BTW, Exxon/Mobil makes Honda's oil. Says so right on the bottle.
If you are concerned with warranty issues, I'd highly recommend Redline or Mobil 1. Redline is harder to get but the Mobil can be found at Pep Boys.
If people really drive their vehicles hard, have NOS or FAI, I'd suggest that you give up the whisker of mileage and go with a slightly thicker oil such as 5W-30 or even a 0W-30.
BTW, Mobil is coming out with a new syn oil called M1R as in Racing! It will be a 0W-30 with an extra additive package that makes it unlike anything else on market. Some NASCAR teams have reportedly been using it with tremendous results.
It will be made specifically for people who really push their cars hard whether it is DOHC VTECs, Porsche, BMW, Viper or anything of that ilk. It should be available in the next couple of months but price hasn't been anounced.

I use the oversized oil filters from honda off thw www.hondaaccesories.com website <--- that link if proboly mispelled. They dont have many oversized filters left but they are cheap and they also sell the crush washers so i usually order 3 at a time. I also get royal purple of northern auto parts website, because they are cheap, shipping isnt much and i get my oil in 2-3 days!
