Sorry. Flowmaster calls it a catback on the website I ordered it from, but yes it's an axleback muffler technically. By the way BAMBOO, what's a MIL eliminator and where can I get one?

-until someone dyno the car before and after the header, no one can say for sure how much gain the header puts out, for me, there is a gain, how much i don't know
-will make it a bit louder

nice thread, just want to make a few things clear:

1) How easy is it to install the header, i mean, if i have to do a emission test later on in the future, i don't want to waste the $$ for the re-installation.

2) i have Ex, if i get a Kamikaze header, it wil still help for hp increase, right??? what should i get 4-2-1 or 4-1 with cold air and cat back system???
1)the installation is fairly easy, but if you are worried about emission test, then you should just get an universal cat and weld it on, you can get a shop to do everything for you
2)go to www.bigjoshracing.com and just get the header for EX

MIL eliminator is just a resistor with 2 wires connected to it, it tricks the ecu to think there is a cat when there is not, hence you won't have the CEL light on after you install the header. you can get everything, header, cat, MIL eliminator at www.bigjoshracing.com

But....with a high flow cat..or even one from an exhaust shop (ie: meinike), they can extend the 02 wires so they'll be plugged in the cat right? So no CEL will come on?

If it's only a resistor, can't one be made? How many ohms is the resistor of the MIL eliminator?

The Kamikaze header makes the car louder but not too much. The header will change the sound of your car by deepening the exhaust tone. There is definately an increase in horsepower on the LX because it removes the stock Catalytic Converter and the patheticly restrictive stock exhaust header. On the EX I would suspect the horsepower increase would not be as noticable since the stock exhaust system on that car is more free flowing and the Cat. is not replaced by adding the Kamikaze header.

i have one on my lx sedan it's alright. i don't think its a ten hp gain but its better than intake and exhaust so i would recommend it.

My Kamikazi hdr and HKS axleback shld be arriving in 2 weeks. Wondering if I should also have a muffler shop install slightly larger than stock exhaust piping from hdr to axleback, say 2.25" mandrel bend if possible. Would retain the resonator to keep sound levels down. What do you guys think?

Does the resonator really kill alot of noise? I thought about having mine removed, but I didn't want it to sound like a bumble bee.

Run 2.5" piping keep the resonator or buy an aftermarket resonator. Try to get mandrel bending. Running without the resonator will make a lot of noise and it may not be the type of noise you want. The Resonator will keep the sound to a decent level. I was running without the catalytic converter until Saturday. Now I have the universal Random Technologies Cat. Which is a good investment depending on state laws and if you don't like the smell. I passed emissions here in Ontario the same day for a transfer of ownership.

I have the kamakazee header on my lx for over a year now and it is great. I felt the most gain with that than any other mod I did.

I dont think u can get a mil eliminator at a local auto parts store. But u can get one from Big josh racing. http://www.bigjoshracing.com/store/shop/index.html .

A bunch of people have gotten theirs from this place so u can trust them.
