how to remove a ding

there was a thread a while back where someone posted a link for a DIY on how to remove door dings, but it doesnt work anymore. does anyone have this link on how to remove them? any suggestions on how to remove small dorr dings? is there some product i can purchase that will "pop" out the ding? i dont want to go to the ding king because the closest one is 20 miles away. thanks for the help.

hey fella. Those door popper things, where you glue a rod to the ding and twist it, aren't worth paying for if you're trying to use it on dents caused by other car doors (ie. dings smaller than or the size of quarters).

If you try stabbing (but not poking through) soda can with a pen, that is the type of dent caused by doors and the type of dent that is the hardest to remove with one of those DIY dent remover kits.

But those kits do work on larger sized dents, like dents caused by someone accidentally falling on your car and pushing a panel in, or a pushed-in bumper corner. (the ones that if you could get to the other side of the panel, you can just push out). An exampleof this type of this dent is a plastic 2liter soda bottle. You can push in the sides, but they pop back out and still look the same.

www.dingking.com you can order one of your repair kits there, or you can find them in Home Depot, maybe. $40 a kit at Home Depot I believe, or other home improvement stores
