Rep Power: 292 The DX site has a new layout!
Okay, here's the skinny for the folks who don't know.
The Dx folks, and to a lesser extent the LX and HX, are finding it difficult to find useful modding information on our specific models. This is mainly concerning mods like Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors and other items that are standard on the LX or EX. Due to the letter minimum on 7thgencivic's search engine, it's difficult to find threads with DX in the thread topic. As a result, we have to weed through other topics and pages of irrelevant threads. As a result, I've volunteered my Geocities space to these mods in an effort to make finding info easier.
I've already planned to post the following mods on the site (pending permission by their respective authors or Derek if it's in the DIY section):
DIY Power Windows (looking for DIY info from skipbarber & xxsovereignxx)
DIY Power Locks (by skipbarber)
DIY Rear Sway Bar (by Grey)
DIY Mini-Tachometer (me)
DIY LX Cluster Swap & FAQ (FAQ by skipbarber)
DIY Painting Exterior Trim
DIY Door Panel Tweeter Install (me)
DIY LX Map Lights (future mod)
DIY Console Shutter (xxsovereignxx??)
Non DX related articles that I'm going to post. Mostly stuff I've written or plan on doing in the future:
DIY Fog Lights Install (me)
DIY Aluminum Dash Bezel Install (me)
DIY Coupe Rear Speaker Install (me)
DIY Spark Plug Install (me)
Okay, that's the scoop. I need comments and suggestions for other stuff to include.
If you have pictures where you'd done any of these DIY's, you can send them to me and I'll try to work them in.
Ideas, suggestions, comments? And please don't post anything about "you shoulda bought an EX" or other crap. Please keep this ON-TOPIC.

Rep Power: 313 you sure you want to use geocities. i have a feeling it'll get locked because of bandwidth since geocities sucks. i might be able to host it for you for the next 4 years..

Rep Power: 311 aww that sig is wrong cambo! lol
wow suddenly my DX upgrades checklist just got a little longer.
I didn't even think that an LX maplight upgrade was possible! YAY!
Can't help but chuckle for the console shutter DIY lol. That has to be one of the easiest things to do (pull out the panel surrounding the Ebrake, and if you can't figure it out from there... uhoh someone take his keys away!)

Rep Power: 292 Thanks for the offer, cambo. I did have some reservations about using Geoshitties. Let's see how it goes for a month or so. If it gets shutdown or too slow, I may take you up on that offer.
I also thought about buying some webspace somewhere, but since it won't generate any income, I can't see buying space for an information site.
BTW, I have permissions from 3 of the 5 people that will be contributing info and pics. Stay tuned...when I get a little further with the design, I'll post a link.

It was a last minute addition to the list. I wasn't sure if anyone would want to do it. If you don't think it's worthy of a write up, I'll delete it.

Rep Power: 292 Okay, it's time for a preview. First link below is the temporary home of the main index file for DX-R. It will function as a portal to all the DIYs, which will be created one-at-a-time as PDF files !! Yes, believe it or not! Pheaton and I were talking tonight about the site a bit and we realized that PDFs would be the perfect solution. It would enable visitors to load the whole DIY article at once and even save it to the hard drive for later use.
Unfortunately, I only have 15mb on Geocities, so I'm currently working on an alternate place to host the PDF files themselves. I've recently found a site that will give me 500mb and 5GB of bandwidth. I may or may not leave the main page on Geocities. I haven't decided yet.
Main Page. Only the fog lights and power locks links work.
http://www.geocities.com/bellz252/dxr.html
The two that are ready:
http://www.geocities.com/bellz252/diyfoglights.pdf
http://www.geocities.com/bellz252/diypowerlocks.pdf
Tell me what you think of the format!

Rep Power: 292 Alrighty then. I have setup the new webspace and applied for the domain name. Until then, you can use the links below to access the site.
Everything including graphics and layout are subject to change.
Main Page (temporary):
http://s89301991.onlinehome.us/dxr.html
Two current diy pdfs:
Power Locks (269k)
Fog Lights (3.3MB)
I'll reply again when the domain name goes through.

Rep Power: 0 Something we've needed for a very long time is a way of figuring out the differences between all the trims, as well as what can be done to them, I know this is going to help a lot of people.

Rep Power: 292 Just added the DIY pdf for the Spark Plugs install.
I also did some extra research and put in a FAQ with some of the most asked questions.
Stuff like which plug heat range, differences between platinium and iridium, how often on changing, where to buy, fouling, torque specs, etc.
Plus it's REALLY small at 133k. I'm getting better at optimizing the size. I gotta trim the fat off the fog lights diy eventually.
Here's the link for the lazy people.

Rep Power: 292 Ok...reviving the thread again.
I just redid the layout of the site. The matrix-looking stuff is gone and it looks more modern. Let me know what you guys think.
Skipbarber is currently working on the Power Windows DIY, so keep an eye out for an update!

Rep Power: 292 The table design and colors was a free template. But I modified it pretty heavily to show everything I needed to show.
And thanks for the comments, I'm not getting very many so far. I hope the people who can use it are actually downloading the pdfs.
