powder coated caliburs????
hey just wanted to know what you guys were doing for better caliburs. whether you are spray painting them, buying big brake kits, or powder coating. Also what are the advantages of doing them or is it just style. Joined: Jul 2002

Changing the color of them doesn't do a damn thing for stopping performance. Niether really does a big brake kit. It makes the brakes cooler by giving more surface area to get rid of heat, but as long as you're using the same caliper, the clamping force is going to be the same and it won't help much. It also throws the balance off.
Best bet is leave them stock sized, get some better rotors and harsher pads.

^^^ Yup^^^^
Big brake kits are just more thermaly effecent. i.e. they resist fade better. and one of their downsides is....... More weight! rotational mass sucks, its worth about 70% more then static wieight as far as performance goes.

I just took a dremel to mine to get the ruff cast off and smooth em up a bit. Then sprayed em black (pics in sig are when they were red and before the dremel smoothing). Don't waste your money on powder coating them.
Might get round to updating my site one of these years.
