I am thinking of using the heating mirror button for different purpose since the America Civics don't have heat mirrors funtion anyway. Any yes, hydrids have folding mirrors but I don't know if they are power folding or not. Mine are power folding and power mirror angle adjust features like the Ex/Lx OEM ones.
If you want to use power adjusting, directly bolt it onto your factory harness. It would work whether if you have a sedan or a coupe. (I've tested so feel confident doing it.)
If you want to see if it has power folding function or heated mirror function, no these would not have the functions like that even if you get everything because there is no motor inside.
Only real JDM ones have power folding and heated function. (Has to have harnesses and relay to make them work)
The U.K spec folding mirrors has heated function but no power folding function.

They come with an instruction to explain which pins belong to folding and mirror angle. I tested the mirror by connecting to a 12 volts power. There is no heating funtion, instead, they have power folding funtion. So, I am wondering if I can just feed 12 volts to the folding motors and make them fold and unfold.

These are probably from Honda in Taiwan or Hong Kong. Bascially they are the same since these are still the OEM product from Honda dealer in Asia. The only difference should be that these from Taiwan or Hong Kong do not come with power folding function. (At least I'm pretty sure about the ones from Taiwan do not come with that function...) There is no replicas for these products unless if you guys only believe that OEM from US,JP,or UK are more "authentic" than OEM from Asia...

Yes, they are from Taiwan Honda and exactly the same as those shown in Alex1's photo gallary except the color. The ones I get have power folding function which I tested by feeding them 12 volts.
Eeee... fold......Eeee....unfold. I am planning to get more, anyone interested? They cost US$150 a pair.

Hey Civicsky since you got the ones with power folding function you should be able to purchase the switch as well from Taiwan. Or simply connect it to the Alarm or ignition and it would work perfectly. $150 shipped? If so folks this is a nice deal and Civicsky I doubt that you make lots of profit by selling these.=)

I don't see it being that hard - I'm sure the connectors/harnesses and fuses are still in your car but they are just not being used....hit me up and we can look this up some more, aight, nme3?
Also, Civicsky, the issue you may have with using the heated mirror switch is that it is either on or off...I think you would need something you can pulse....cause I dunno how the motor will react if it is continuously fed power and it has folded as far as it can go...perhaps one of our electrical gurus can come up with a solution...

it was a gift from my dad. he was overseas for business. but then i figured out recently that sedans and coupes dont have that same angle in the front. it dint fit and i dint feel like modding it to fit. so now im selling it.
these mirrors are much better than stock.. the mirror itself is slightly convex giving you almost NO blind spot at all... i love them...

DogStyleEx, I am wondering if you have connect the folding motor in the mirrors? I am thinking whether or not spend time putting some extra wires just to make them fold electrically. (I can fold them manually but that could be a waste)
no.. i haven't.. i was about the buy the switch from honda when i bought the mirrors, but the switch was pretty expensive for some reason... so i said screw it.. i may do it sometime down the road..
btw.. why can't you use the 6th gen switch.. it looks exactly like the 7th gen one i saw...

I don't know if that 6gen switch fit or not. I find it on eBay and it goes with a pair of bit up folding mirrors. <--- the seller is asking for $140.

thats what i thought too telly. but sad truth is, the DX has different wires in the doors. The wires that are in the doors do not have harnesses for power windows, power doorlocks, and power mirrors. In a way Honda saves money by producing a different, more simpler, harness for the DX because they don't need the power option harnesses.
I planned on finding EX mirrors from a junkyard, but I learned by checking out the diagrams on www.HondaAutomotiveparts.com that the DX doesn't have the plugs/harnesses to 'just add' stuff like power windows. I really wish it was plug&play but it's not.
