Dash Po install w/Gauges

So i was looking at ebay and i saw those frong eye pod thingys. I am thinking abotu buying one and installing it. How hard is the install on those? Also i am looking into getting a voltmeter for one side and a something on the other side (thinking about going with a boost meter...planning for the future. is it going to be a pain in the a$$ to install the pod and the 2 guages? Right now i will be leaving the boost gauge dead 9with the exception of pluging it in for the lighting effect). Will the exsisting unit around my console come off for the install of the new pod or will the pod fit over the piece? also how much drilling will it require to install the guages? i know i will have to run wire to the battery for the voltmeter but is that about it? Thanks for the help in advance!

here is a link to an auction to give a mental picture of the guage pod. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2434563873

I don't think it would be that hard, just remove the old black trim piece and replace it with the new... its going to be harder to run wires through the firewall and hooking up the gauges....

Thanks, I figured that the gauges would be the hard part. they only need a 12 ga wire though so simply go through the firewall pretty easily......but hey who knows.....i think i am going to get it, i will post a DIY asap....just have to save the money up for the gauges.....**** those things are expensive!

From my memory it won't work so well on LX or EX because it will block the view of he gas and temp meters. Do a search about it b4 you buy.

I got the carbon fiber ones like that from Racative. They look pretty good. Just have not found the gauges that I want in them yet. Since they are like 1/8" smaller holes than the Autometer Gauges.

It was an easy install. If you want, I will do a DIY

I wouldn't get it. It's not designed very well. Here's a pic of an EX. I also have a pic of the newer dash, but I'll have to attach it later when I'm at home.

I want to put small gauges in a custom pod in my steering wheel. Either in the middle or to the sides of the top "hole"
what do you think?

I thought the "frog eye" ones were the gauge holders that go above the dash board on either side, and actually looked like a frog's eyes. Not the ones posted above that go inside the gauge cluster.
