Larger Oil Filters

Anyone tried using a larger oil filter than stock? According to H&A Accessories.com, Honda went to a skinnier oil filter in the current generation Civic. But, the older, fatter filter is still compatible.

yeah I ordered the larger older style OEM honda filters...they are noticably bigger and are the same price, but I havent noticed any difference what so ever in performance or oil cleansliness.

Wouldn't having the larger filter increase the amount of filtering media and increase the oil capacity slightly?

edit: i'm talking about using an excessively large filter not the normal non-skinny honda one

grey uses a larger supertech filter on his car. Bascially a Mobil 1/Bosch filter without the name. Hasn't had any problems yet.
