how do i keep xenon side skirts on? help plz

plz dont say double sided tape! i've tried it several times, like 3 times actually. I've had a body shop install them using a so called, "extra strong double sided tape." Anyways, they aren't staying on. the main problem is in the middle part not staying up. i need some suggestions. the guy at home depot told me to use this epoxy mixture that they use on aquamarine things. I was thinking of using double sided tape plus the epoxy on top of it. The tape works for like a day or two but once it rains, its all falling off. any opinions would help. No im not molding them because i've gone to plenty of places and they've told me that the urethane will expand and cause it to crack after a while, so they wont do it. help plz. thanx.

I have the clear kind and its been sticking for over 6 months already. And still going. to tell you what i bought was 3m double sided tape 12 ft, it has red plastic protecting the tape around it, and is around 4 bucks for 12 ft. I bought it at home depot

the 3m tape i got is like white. it says heavy duty on it and comes in a red package. i had gotten the heavy duty kind that comes in a large package and is thicker before but it stuck out. i decided to take it off and get the thinner kind and that didn't stick. i think i might put the thick kind back on cuz it did hold, but just stuck out with some white on it. the thicker kind cost like 15 bucks tho cuz its longer and thicker. hope u kno maybe what i was using

how do i keep my side skirts up for 24 hrs till it cures, cuz it says it sets in 10 minutes but it really doesn't i think. what should i do. should i put some 3m tape underneath and then get like a sealant/adhesive to put on the top part between the side skirt and car so that the tape doesn't get wet, cuz it falls off when its wet

sorry double post, haha.

buy the 3m tape. you can get it at autozone or walmart or where ever. make sure it is with the red. like it said above it runs about $4 for so many feet. buy however many. make sure you clean off the area by washing it and cleaning with alcohol. get all the other 3m tape off the sides skirts and car body. and then reapply the new 3m tape, (super strong with the red peal off). The only way water will affect it is if you have gaps in it. If you do you can try putting clear silicone in there to block water from getting in. That 3m tape works and i have had no problems with it. My sides have been on for over 6 months with no problems. hope this helps.

btw make sure your side skirts are clean when putting in the tape, dont get the tape thats made with foam, because those are hard to take off.

yes it is hard to take off. if need be, just buy so kind of adhesive remover and it should come right off. it might take awhile but it will come off faster.

when i had my xenon sides...besides the 3m double sided tape that came with the skirts, i used those and also i drilled holes into the skirts and used bolts to hold up the front and back....had it on for about a year, never had a single problem with it.
The tape still held on strong after a year when i took them off.

those brackets go in the middle of the side skirt, and under the car where the door is....they were just extra support
those arent the holes i was talking about though....
you dont necessarily need to use those brackets, but my friend who owns a body shop put those on for me.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
uhh you gotta used the brackets that come with it man... there should be 2 brackets on each side.... I had mine on for over a year, plus through a winter with snow and they are still on as good as the day it was installed.... sounds like whoever installed it tried to save time and didn't used the brackets... good luck getting it fixed!!!

Are you screwing them inside off the wheel wells? You kinda have to if you want them to stay on, cuz if you're just relying on double sided tape to keep the on then of course they're gonna fall off . Use the 3M double sided tape that says heavy duty 5lbs and make sure its the gray kind with the red plastic protectant paper. Better yet ask the people who are working at like autozone, pep boys, or home depot what kind you should use . Make sure you clean off the back side of the side skirt and the part of the car the skirt is gonna stick to very very well so it can stick better. Take the double sided tape and line the whole inside top part of the skirt with it (When you line the skirt with the tape you have to apply an insane amount of pressure so it will stay on better). Peel the red protectant **** off. Btw you should have a couple other people helping you out. Place the skirt on the car, hold it their and apply a crap load of pressure. You have to do it for some time so it can stick better. While the other people are holding and pressing it on, screw it in with one or two screws in each wheel well. Thats how it should be done. If you take it to a place to have it done and all they use for the skirts is double sided tape they are either ****ing idiots or lazy *** cheap bastards. If you look at the showroom cars with kits on them you'll see that they are screwed in the wheel wells along with the thin gray heavy duty double sided tape. So yeah...

The brackets go in the middle. I have them and Have had no problems. My biggest problem, The front. The Xenon front no any other front lines up with my Z3 fenders. They are poorly designed

what kind of fenders do you have? I got the metal ones from hiper industry and they fit perfect with the xenon kit.
