trim kits
trim kits
anyone have these installed? I was looking at the factory trim kits for the dash and ac vents.. they look really nice. Are they easy to install on your own? (i.e. snap on etc..?) Any problems experiened after insatlling them?

i have the oem carbon fiber one from www.handaaccessories.com and i thought it was very easy to install. they just stick on with 3m double sided tape. a few tips, dont do it when it is very hot or very cold. wait till a nice autumn or spring day when your dash is cool. clean with rubbing alcohol to get any cleaners and dirt off. and buy some extra double sided clear stick tape and put a few more stripes on the peices because i found not all the peices stick very well.
the thing i like the most about these peices are, if i need to take them off to do a mod, i.e. remove shifter area console to fix my boot, they peel off with no problem and some new tape u can stick them right back on.
fit is near perfect, and again, u dont have to worry about ****ing up because they peel off and stick back on if u do **** up.

Yeah well put by 4bangin. I have oem metallic kit. It's very nice. Fits very well and the quality looks good, not like ebay kits. Hey 4bangin did you paint your left side of the door handle where the window controls are?

Thanks 4bangin.. yeah I thought they looked like a pretty cool and simple addition but ya just never can tell with these things... and that's a pretty good price too. What 3M tape did you use(size?)? the install says masking tape.. but phak that. and what did you mean by putting more stripes on it?

the ebay ones are okay for the price.
I got one.
i screwed up the install so the center console looks bad.
but if u install it correctly, it'll look just fine.
personally its a bitch to install so i wouldn't recommend it unless u can get some with experience, so it wont crack or bubble up when it gets hot.
cuz some of my pieces are great.. and some are eh?
personally the more I look at it, the more better looking stock, or a nice painted one will look.
its not easy to paint too.. a simple spray wont do, i've seen poor paint jobs, and good paint jobs... the good ones are the ones that makes it look like the car came that way.
some of the pieces u probably shouldn't use cuz its gay, but most of the fits are 90%+ fitment.
