It's the only remote starter that I know of that works with a manual transmission.
You can get other remote starters to work with manuals but it requires some rewiring of the alarm and I wouldn't trust it. Cause if it fails, your car will take off.

any remote start will work on a 5spd. the manufacturers will just say they will not work because they dont want to be liable. no remote start is 100% fool proof on manual cars. I have a dei 790xv on my car and i just used a magnetic switch to keep it from starting when its in gear. besides that all you need is an extra relay to bypass the clutch switch. I have my setup where if my hand brake isnt up and the car isnt in neutral, the car wont start.

you prgram crank time to less than a few seconds, and the car only moves so fast...it only luges forward..it doesnt go flying at which point you would be responsible for any damages..and youre right what if it hits another car..or a tree..or a kid..you cant say its the manufacturers fault..you cant blame it on the installer..they make you sign a waiver..its illegal for a reason. if you do remote start..you have to take responsibility for it. eventhough I NEVER leave my car in gear..im always paranoid about it..i always remote start the car when i can see it. in the morning i just look out my window...just to make sure it doesnt go anywhere. Just be responisible and you'll be fine..turn off the feature if you need to, all alarms are required to have a safety shut off switch for remote start features.
Yeah you can buy any remote starter for any car actually, there is place here in dallas that you can by the module that by passes the clutch, and a module that you can buy in case you leave you care in gear, it will not start unless in neutral. It is not a matter if you can do it, it is the matter where you can find a place to do it, you know with all the liablities and all.

dont be fooled by dealers making you pay $80 for "clutch bypass" the clutch bypass is just a relay and shouldnt cost more than $6. just a side note
awww sheet skip! Do you have remote start? Can you install a remote starter kit on my automatic, and have my car turn on when I disarm my Viper alarm?
I've been thinking about having a remote starter installed but I don't want more than one remote on my keychain.

my friend has a remote starter on his Camaro SS (manual). He tends to elave the car in first, so a few times he started it and hit his dad's car lol it was hella funny but it really sucked sometimes
It is pretty cool I have the Black Widow Alarm system, with the remote start, and everything on it. Manual Transmission. Althought I didn't by the magnectic relay. I always leave my car in neutral, so it doesn't matter for me.

skipbarber, why would you say that its cheaper? a 550 is still like 280 or something installed, a rattler 259 or 359 is what, $60-80 plus $100 to install. to hook up a dei RS to a viper alarm is a 3 wire interface. and you mentioned crank time, i really hope that you didnt do your own car tachless, thats the really ghetto way to do a RS, especially when our tach signal is so easy to get at.
anyway, there a quite a few RS's for manuals, clifford also make a couple, and then there are quite a few lesser known brands that offer it as well, that are widely available over the internet.

no, i programmed tach...but its an option, you can run voltage. i was simply stating that its a controllable feature. and personally..id much rather have a dei alarm that already has remote start because trouble shooting just becomes that much simpler. do i care? no. and despite the number of companies that advertise remote start for manual cars..there is not a single one out there that is 100% flawless.
