oxygen booster?!
Has anyone heard of this product? My friend has it on his infinity and he says it boosts crazy mileage...he probably exaggerated the "crazy" part but it might do something. It is a annodized cylindrical piece with some kind of mesh in between to suck in more oxygen along with the tubing from the engine's combustion chamber. He says that since our cars recycle the oxygen to recombust it a second time, you hook up this piece to that tube and it will suck in fresh air into the combustion chamber to be recombusted, thus giving more mileage and maybe some hp. I didn't know what to believe. anyone got ideas? i suck at describing cause i dunno which tube does what. lol

You mean this thing?
http://www.gp2000.com/
I am not sure if it will work. I have never heard of it before. It seems like a breather for the intake manifold. when it draws in some of the exhaust to be used again, it is losing oxygen. This thing allows that used exhaust to escape before it gets back to the intake manifold, thus only using air that has not be used at all while giving it more clean air.

sounds like a good idea
the site says this about it
GP2000a Ceramic Oxygen Booster :
I. Functions:
1. Increase engine power output 8% ~ 15%.
2. Reduce exhaust emission 18% ~ 75%.
3. Eliminate carbon deposit.
4. Lower the engine knocking and
irregular shaking.
5. Improve engine poor start and engine stall.
6. Smooth the shift hesitation of
auto-transmission.

thnx rob! that is exactly it!!! my friend doesn't know wth he's talking about then. Seems like it does the opposite, by letting exhaust fumes escape instead of sucking in more air. O well...anyone have one o these and knows if it works?

Quote from site:
1. The intake manifold draws incompletely combusted gas from cylinder block via PCV check valve and purging hose (or Positive Crankshaft Ventilation hose) into combustion chamber to conduct second combustion in order to save fuel and reduce exhaust emission.
However, the purged gas, which has been combusted once, does not contain sufficient oxygen. Therefore, we place the GP2000a in a position to supply the second intake with extra oxygen. The purged gas drawing into combustion chamber hence contains higher oxygen ratio. This results better combustion and increases combustion efficiency.

I wouldn't trust it. The air pressure inside the intake manifold will be greater than the outside air because it has the normal air in addition to the recycled fumes. If anything, it would only expel the exhaust gases without letting in any new air. Unless that thingy they sell has some kind of mechanism to suck air into intake manifold, there's no way its going to give new air. Reminds me of the electric turbo.

I asked the manufacture for GP2000a and this is the reply:
"We Quite sorry for late reply,it's because our web system's
construction not completely yet.
GP2000a fit the HONDA Civic 6th & before but not 7th,
due to can not found the PCV Valve on the 7th's engine
(GP2000a have to installed on the PCV Valve).
Att'd installation picture for 6th & for your reference.
Sorry for your Civic can not use GP2000a,& if you're still
interesting in GP2000a & need more information, pls let
me know, I'll send it to you by mail. Thank you !
B.Rgds
Andy"
