I have a Cobra 9210 and it works great. Cobra has great customer service and definately has one of the best products out there. Good luck picking one out.

I wouldn't bother with any other detector other than the new passport 8500 or the new Bel series detectors. Check out the link Fly posted and you'll see why.

Honestly I have like a $50 Cobra detector that I got at Best Buy on sale and the thing does it's job just fine compared to the $200 Escort detector that i had before it was stolen. In the end, i've found they wont protect you from tickets in most cases, they make your car more liable for getting broken into, and they absolutely annoy the hell out of cops if they see it when you get pulled over.

It all depends on how much you are looking to spend?

The best is Valentine, IMO. It has directional signals too, but it really shouldn't matter b/c if it goes off you should slow down no matter which direction its coming from. I had a Cobra too, $100 from Target. You get a lot of mixed signals but you learn how to distinguish b/t cop and automatic door opener. The only problem though is it only lasted for 6 months and now it won't work anymore.
