'02+ Si Seats / '01 EX Rails Compatibility?

I am currenty in the process of purchasing a set of seats from an '02 Si for my EX. The only problem is that the seller is retaining his stock rails/sliders for use with his new seats. I know that the Si rails will bolt to the EX chassis (3 out of 4, with #4 needing minor modification), but I am not sure if the EX rails will bolt to the Si seats, anyone have a clue? I really would like to pick the seats up as the price is right, but if I need to buy rails it's not nearly as good a deal. Anyone who can shed some light would be greatly appreciated.

RedDragon333 will become famous soon enough
no they wont you would be better off trying to obtain some SI rails from Honda. If hes buying aftermarket seats he would be better off replacing his OEM rails and getting the rails that bolt ojn to the aftermarket seats hes getting. As would you, you would be better off getting the 02 Si rails, the EX OEM rails dont bolt on

true..
i just got a set, and they look real similar until you pull the seats apart..
holes don't line up at all..
also, the Si rails have an extra piece welded on to support the bolster..
yer better off doing what the guys said and getting Si rails..only one hole will have to be messed with to get it into your EX right.. (outer on each seat)
just get a piece about 2" welded on to it, drill a hole and line it up..

the only thing that really bothers me about the Si seats is i seem to sit higher and about 2 clicks closer to the pedals (i gots long legs )
it woulda been nice if they had the EX feature of raising and lowering the seat

just re-read your post,..
the guy you're buying them from is gonna have to practically destroy those rails to make them work on any other seat..
they don't just bolt on to "the seat", just like ours they're part of the seat..(framing, springs, the whole damn thing..)

So the rails/sliders are integral to the frame, i.e. they do not bolt-on as they did on previous generations? DragonAces post would lead me to believe that they are removeable, just not compatible with the other seat. Am I misunderstanding? Thanks in advance for all of your expertise guys.

If they sit higher/further forward then that's a major problem, as I am 6'3 / 240 and I definitely don't want to lose any space! As it stands, I have plenty of room, but the seat is all the way back and in the lowest position. This may be a no-go then.

i wish i had have taken pics when i had them apart..
stoopid me..

the rails do come off each seat..from the sides
your present EX rails won't work with them tho..and the cushions will NOT adapt over..
honestly, i tried to make them go without destroying everything..

plus, at 6'3" yer gonna hate them..
i'm only 6'/150 lbs and i'm an inch off the roof, furthest setting toward the rear i'm too close to the pedals in runners (36" inseam)
in the EX seats i was one click forward of the furthest setting and i could wear my DocM's w/o a problem, in these seats, forget it..

hope that helps ya in making your decision..
anything else ya might like to know e-mail me Si_Veloz@torontocivics.com and i'll try and help ya out furthur..
