How easy (and safe) is it to install this radio?
How easy (and safe) is it to install this radio?
I picked up a generic touchscreen car radio for basically free (thank you Amazon Vine). The Amazon listing is " ". It purports to be compatible with Apple CarPlay, hence my interest. It says it's plug-and-play, and offers full compatibility with the steering wheel controls.
I have a 2013 Civic LX with the standard radio (not GPS). I have only minimal experience with car radios.
The kit arrived with all the parts pictured in the Amazon listing, including a power cable with an awful lot of connectors on it. The included instructions are minimal and car-agnostic, and that worries me.
I haven't been able to find a guide telling me what the connectors from the car (behind the radio) are, so that I'd be able to make sure this kit connects to them. I don't know what plugs into what.
Should I try installing this? Is it probably fairly easy to plug the connections together and it should work okay? Or could a mistake on my part (or on the kit's part) fry my Civic? What would you recommend I do?

Re: How easy (and safe) is it to install this radio?
My apologies for my newbie post. (I looked for a way to delete it, but this site doesn't offer that.)
I installed the new radio today. Total time minus side quests: about 3 hours, because I was nervous and careful and had some trouble removing the old one. (Those two screws under the old radio need an 8mm socket!)
Once I got the old radio out, putting the new one in was fairly simple. Connections were obvious. It was amazingly nice that the new radio came prewired for my Civic. Everything seems to work fine at first glance, but I'll play with the Android settings next time I'm stopped in traffic. Apple CarPlay seems to work fine. Nothing has caught fire (yet).
