Rep Power: 0 SWC connection - Atoto F7 WE in 2006 honda civic EX sedan [solved]
I hope someone has experience with this. I would like to hook up the SWC for this vehicle. This video says it can be done, but no explanation. I know from the connector not used for the install that the pink with silver and the brown with silver are the SWC. They are shown as the 2 wires at the bottom left of the pic.
When I measure resistance across the terminals it changes resistance with the SWC buttons. It has 10K when no button is not pushed, and I think that may be the issue.
The Atoto has Steering Wheel Key (+) and Steering Wheel Key # (+). Both put out 3.3 v when not hooked up.
The Civic wires have no voltage and are not grounded, i.e. they just make a resistive loop.
I have searched both forums and watched numerous videos but cannot find a definitive answer. I do not believe a SWC controller is required.
I have also reached out to Atoto, but the language barrier and only 1 email per day is not going so well. It has been a back and forth for over a week now.
What I have learned is that tying the 2 civic wires to the SWC wires doesn't work bc there is no reference to ground. I have tried other combinations as well, but I keep wondering if the 10K resistance without any buttons pushed is causing the unit not to learn properly.
Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance.

10k ohms is exactly what you should see with no button pressed.
What is pin 16 as referenced in your picture? Sounds like you want to connect to 12 and 16, or 2 and 16. I'm not really understanding which.

I would say pins 12 and 16 are what you want then.

I have resolved this after talking to Ernie at PAC.
He said that combining pin 2 and 12 with the pink, then brown to pin 16, chassis ground may work. He was correct. Works like a charm, and no expensive adapters required.
