Radio Question

My ex headunit is faulty, so i bought a replacement unit on facebook but it was for a hybrid model, i got it hooked up and it powers on and works fine I just dont get any sound. Is a hybrid civic radio compatible to use in an ex model?

Re: Radio Question

You didn't give enough info to get any answer.

There are several different radios for several different years, models, body styles, and trim levels. And countries.

Some have an internal amp. Some require an external amp. Some may be wired differently.

Re: Radio Question

you are right my bad, i drive a 2006 civic ex coupe, my radio unit has been acting up for a while, it randomly changes through modes fm,aux,am,to CD and randomly cuts out power where it shows anything on the screen, and loud pops and static come through the speakers. I've changed fuses for both the amp and radio but nothing worked, so I bought a radio from the same year hybgrid model and the ports in the back re set up differently but i got them plugged in and the radio powers on but im getting no sound

Re: Radio Question

Sooooo your EX coupe has an external amplifier, the radio you purchased has an internal amp. NOT compatible.

It could be pretty simple if you just purchase the correct radio for your specific car.
