brake drums

today I rotated my tires front to back and vise versa got the better
ones up front for better traction in snow but as I took off the back wheel
I tried taking the brake drum off to adjust the rear brakes since iam right there I noticed my brake drums on both sides were stuck on. parking brake
was released.

so for now I left them I will takle the job in warmer weather but what
should I do as far as spreying penetrating oil around the studs and hammering on the drum to break the rust goes.?

Re: brake drums

8mm, same as the threaded holes in the original rotors
I think thread pitch is 1.25....

pick just about any bolt on the car that takes a 12mm wrench (except caliper hardware) and it should fit.

Re: brake drums

great pick and quick feedback from ezone...!
oh.. by the way. I only seen one hole on the drum for a bolt to screw in
unlike the drum in the pick you shown. does this mean there not Honda drums.?
just asking because I wouldn't know since I bought the vehicle used.?

Re: brake drums

Dude, that's a random pic from GIS. I have no idea what it's from.

It's only an example, not the Gospel!

I was assuming the hole on an 8th is 8mm..... My 2012 has like 10mm threaded holes in them.

My last 2 Civics the drums will pull right off......my Corollas never would.
