DRL help!

My DRL notification has been on for a while and I finally put some in today, (my car didn't have any). Well the notification never went away once I put them in. I know my car doesn't have high beams, could that be the reason the notification won't go away or could something else be wrong?

its a 2012 Honda Civic Lx

moved to correct sub-forum

But, back to your issue at hand, do your high beams still operate normally?

Re: DRL help!

We don't have high beams. Which is why I'm thinking the DRL light may be still on even after putting new ones in. But I wasn't sure. But low beams and new DRL work good.

Problem. This is why the DRL warning stays on.

What exactly did you 'put in'?

I assume you mean new high beam bulbs, but are the terminals inside the harness connectors still good and clean, or have they become corroded from being unplugged and exposed for a long time?

oh no, we put in new daytime running lights. Believe it or not, my car never had them or high beams. It still needs high beams.

Re: DRL help!

The confusion factor is very high here.

The standard setup is that high beams, & DRLs share/are the same bulbs from factory.

This makes absolutely no sense for a stock LX, unless someone has installed a bunch of aftermarket lighting on your car. Post pics of what you installed?

^Right.

The stock 2012 uses the high beam bulbs as its DRL lights. If you don't have working high beam lights, you won't have DRL either.

The only exception is the hybrid.
