2011 coupe issue
2011 coupe issue
Greetings, ok so I been dealing with this since August. It kept getting worse but now it seems to be as bad as its gonna get. 2011 civic coupe, 36k miles. I hit a curb pretty hard, bent the front passenger wheel. Changed it, also changed the bearing. After that and an alighnment all seemed perfect. But started getting slight vibrations in the steering wheel, almost as if I can feel the road in the steering wheel, the gas pedal also vibrates and I can feel it especially when I accelerate. There's also a hum that is at its worst at 40mph and gets less noticeable the faster I go past 40. Car also rides pretty rough. It's not the tires either these are new Michelin tires I bought for comfort. I have brought the car to my mechanic and a few other places and no one can figure it out. One place said it could be the transmission, but how would that make the vibrations and the car ride badly? I'm thinking its the control arm, or tie rod. Please any help is appreciated!
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 2011 coupe issue
Got a print of the alignment?
Could have bent the bottom of the strut when it hit, causing the strut to bind?
More wheel bearing issues, cheapo bearing going bad already?
loose lugnuts?
Suspension got shoved inward, now the axle is in a bind? (check plunge)
Put the car in the air so wheels can spin freely, have someone inside to keep it going 40, use a Stethoscope to locate noise source.
If there is no unusual noise while in the air, it may be tire tread related.
