My Windshield Washers Squirt When I Hit Bumps?
My Windshield Washers Squirt When I Hit Bumps?
Just as the title says, after bringing in my 2009 Si for some maintenance (belts, valve adjustments, alignment...), my windshield washers squirt whenever I hit a bump. It seems a little more prominent if the front passenger wheel hits hardest, and I know that's where the fluid tank and motor are. My Honda dealership says my nozzles are bad, which sounds like a load of crap.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I'm guessing that the bump is somehow (via a short possibly) activating the motor for a brief second. Is it possible that the work I listed above could have somehow caused this, or is it just coincidence?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Drew

Unplug the washer pump and drive it around. If it quits squirting then it must be electric related.

I don't have the ability to literally unplug the pump, but I was thinking about removing the fuse to the whole windshield wiper system which would disable the pump and effectively do the same thing. It's been raining up here the last few days, so when it clears up, I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Looks like fuse #38 in the dash fusebox would control power to the wiper system through the MICU, but because wiper and washer operations are controlled by the MICU (body computer) pulling a fuse MIGHT disable more functions than you expect.
