Exterior Seals
Exterior Seals
So, let me preface this by saying that I'm pretty good with my hands and tools and I'd consider myself to have a decent mechanical aptitude. What I don't have is any background in cars or much knowledge about them. I can change my own oil and tires and the like, but that's about it.
My issue is related to my exterior seals on my '06 Civic. We moved to the desert of SoCal about 6 years ago and my seals seem to be dry-rotting. Here's a picture of what I mean:

What can I do about this? I'd appreciate any help. I tried searching through the archives, but I must be calling it the wrong thing, because I couldn't find anything.

Re: Exterior Seals
I don't know what the technical term for that is but you can try searching for it on hondaautomotiveparts.com. They will have an exploded view with a part number for a new one.
Looks like a windshield seal, maybe something Safelite can take care of?

Re: Exterior Seals
I'd send it to an auto glass company, let them see if they can do something with it or if they can replace it.
