Code P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off

Hello my girlfriends 08 Has the check engine light on and the FLashing green Light next to D. The OBDII came back with P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off. any information on this would be great. Is this an easy part to get to and replace. Is this a part that typically goes bad on these Hondas? thanks
Joe

My 2006 manual says to drain transmission fluid thru a strainer and look for excess debris or clutch material. If so replace transmission.. EEEEEEEEE. Then it says to replace fluid. I would try that 3 quarts at a time Honda brand for a 12 qt case and replace the inline cooler oil filter (Honda Part) behind the lower air filter box. If it came back, replace the exterior bolt on b valve and screen in it. It's under the 9 bolt exterior cover. While in there I would pull all the other valves in there and see if I saw any screens and clean them. Before you do anything wait for Ezone to give his blessing.

Re: Code P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off

.

Oh, I hate trans codes. They can get expensive in a hurry.

----------------
(paraphrased)
PCM operates shift solenoid B to supply line pressure to shift valve B in the valve body. Bla bla bla.... PCM monitors mainshaft and countershaft speeds to determine gear ratios.....
If an improper gear ratio is output at the time of a shift, the pcm figures the shift solenoid did not do its job and sets the code
----------------

I found some info that says codes P0756 and P0847 can be caused by the 3rd clutch pressure switch sticking ON, but you only have one of the codes..So that's out.
--------------

Miles on the car? Over 150k?

How does the trans fluid look? Smell? Not pink anymore? Stink bad?
Trans fluid service history sketchy?

Does the trans shift wrong or feel funny? Delayed shifts? Long time to hit the next upshift?

-----------------

So....There's drain the fluid through a strainer and check for metal and clutch debris steps already mentioned...
Then...See if the HDS scanner can make the valve click on command
Drive with the HDS and see if the self test passes or fails.

What I'm reading is mostly about trying to decide if the solenoid should be replaced or if the trans should be replaced.

Solenoid could be sticking, it's teensy little filters could be clogged with debris, either of those could be caused by an internal trans failure, clutch wear/failure, or TCC wear/failure.
If the valve body (shift valve B) is having a problem that is causing the incorrect shifting, that's an internal trans problem and a solenoid won't fix it.

Are you close to me? I'll give you $100 for the car LOL
