I have a 2007 Honda Civic SI 2.0L sedan,when i insert my key in the ignition switch there is no (green key light symbol/immobilizer light) key symbol in the dash board and when i try to start the car the engine (crank) turnover but wont start.Wondering if i need a new immobilizer or what could be the possible problem.

If the car was built to be in another country, I may not be of help. I only have info for US market cars.


The green light should come on briefly, and then extinguish.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Immobilizer Indicator
The immobilizer indicator is on the instrument panel.
When you insert a programmed ignition key (master or
valet) into the ignition switch, and turn the switch to ON
(II), the indicator flashes once and then goes off. At this
point, the engine can be started by turning the ignition
switch to START (III). Unlike previous systems, the
indicator does not come on when you turn the ignition
switch to LOCK (0).


If you insert a nonprogrammed ignition key into the
ignition switch and turn the switch to ON (II), the
indicator comes on for 2 seconds and then starts to
flash.



You see no green key symbol illumination on the tach cluster at all?

Is this a USA market car?

Does the check engine light come on?

Does the rest of the dash light up like it normally does, or is anything else apparently wrong? (observe and assess all electrical operations in the car for possible related problems)
Gauges,
Exterior Lights
Interior lights
Chimes
Door-open and trunk-open warning lights
keyless, security, and horn (security and panic mode)
power door locks
dash light brightness control
(all these items use the B-CAN network)

Trying to figure out if this might be isolated to the immobilizer components or if other items might be affected too.


You have the key itself,
the immobilizer receiver/control unit in the steering column,
the IMOES unit (part of the MICU, which is built into the dash fusebox assembly)
the PCM
and all wiring between the units.
All parts are heavily dependent on data communications between the units: F-CAN and B-CAN data communication networks.



I would probably begin by inspecting every fuse in both fuse boxes, and I'd use a test light or meter to speed the checking.

dash: Fuse 2, 10, 38
engine compartment: fuse 23, 19,
And all the rest of the fuses in both boxes
