2000 Civic EX Coupe 5 Speed in MA
2000 Civic EX Coupe 5 Speed in MA
The car has 166k on it, and for the good the last 2 sections of the exhaust were just replaced and the timing belt was done within the last 10-20k miles.
As for the bad it has some issues which is why I'm asking for less than half of the KBB value for it in fair condition (2,913).
The battery light is coming on occasionally while idling but once your driving it's fine.
The clutch was making a sound while being released one time in traffic but it hasn't done it since and isn't slipping. I looked it up and it seems to be the bearing and the sites said it could last anytime from a few miles to 20k when it is doing it regularly. So since it's not doing it anymore it should be fine for now, but you probably will need to replace it sometime. It's also the original clutch.
The A/C compressor seized so the shop put on a belt that bypassed it, and it is burning roughly 1 quart of oil per 600-800 miles.
The check engine light is on but this happens all the time (off and on for 5+ years) and in the past has always been an issue with the fuel system from not putting on the gas cap right and/or overfilling it. The cheapest gas around is at the full service station and they seem to mess it up a bit. I'll be checking the code tomorrow.
The only leak is in the trunk and it's built up a some rust there, because of that I haven't really used it for years.
The car has also been in one "big accident" or at least that's what the insurance company called it. I rear ended someone and it didn't cause much damage but everything in the front and the fenders got bent slightly to the point where they didn't fit well so they body shopped replaced it all. I needed to get to class for a week before that so it was fitted with hood pins, but they are no longer functional.
