All stock again !!
All stock again !!
As you may know my AEM and exhaust are up for sale. I have gone back to stock exhaust to regain low end and i must say, after removing these 2 mods the car has never ran better. Theres someting to be said for the engineering that went into the car. The aftermarket just aint cuttin it with gains.
so ur just going to keep the car stock now?...i thought the same thing, but, with mods, comes a little driver comfort taken away...my car is louder and rides worse and lets a real stinky smell from the rear. BUT, it out preforms stock, looks better than stock and gives me a lot more enjoyment than stock....

i'm stock for life

cept rims if i ever afford em.
yes indeed, dude, staying stock = wisdom and $$$ not pissed away
Just a smart move on your part man....like gearbox said and my auto mechanics instructor, everytime I want a mod I call him and he talks me out of it. Talked me out of my air intake (i took it off and sold it) , wanting a header, wanting a cat-back exaust, wanting to drop my car with springs(I really wanted to do this!) So, moddin the civic takes away from the value! And, it really does very little for performance gains!
I do like to play around with my civic, so I gotta do somethin so.....Mods for me are Oem stock value goin up mods......new oem alloy si wheels, new tires instead of those cheap stock ones (soon! Falken ZE512's), oem exaust tip, tint 30% around, I did shave the LX emblem, so I struggle (hehe) with wanting to mod, but resist! I even
want a hyperblinker now (hehe), and want an indiglo dash.
I just think you are smart redvtec. Hangin in there, trying to resist the temptation to modify my civic.

Hey Brill,
That's funny man. I am still single, and can see what you are saying man. I will keep trying to resist to temptation to throw $$$$$$$$$ away modifying. I have people tell me my car looks smooth/sweet without many mods at all.

you already have alloy wheels... thats really all i want for my ride. bodykits are useless and just get scratched as you run em into curbs... lowering makes it so you can't drive over speed bumps properly, performance mufflers are too noisy for my liking, air intake, if it gave any gain, wouldn't be worth my time or money.
alloys though, they just add so much to the car. i strongly dislike hubcaps... even though the hubcaps i have on my car are probably my favourite all time hubcaps... it still looks so, meh, hubcapish.
anywho, my wife is a nurse and i'm working full time so maybe we'll have $1k to drop on rims one of these days.

^^I agree with the rims - I love my Si rims - I couldn't live with hubs. I'm resisting any mods at the moment expect an audio system which is in the works at the moment. I might do something with the suspension but that's it - and that won't be for at least a year so since I'm low on $$$ since I just dropped around $1400 on the new sound system. Anyway - stock for me - keeps the value of the car up and makes me feel like I'm not pissing away my money!
even modding stock parts on the car is retarded. because the car was not designed to run that way, and gains on our cars will be crap. and your still throwing money away....it might not be going to an aftermarket part..but its still going towards an attempt to make the car fast, no difference to me. unless you do all of the work yourself, then your just wasting time.

Very true. If I could do it all over, I would not have done any engine mods. Once I get the TB bored, I'm getting it tuned and just calling it quits. The funny thing is now the car seems slower than when it was stock.
I love this thread, for info , my few mods are done by me, and are all stock oem parts, no major engine mods,
Brill, you need to get some stock alloy honda Si wheels like me man, everybody loves my wheels on my black civic...handa-accessories.com for the hook up price man.
I did put in another Mod everyone, myself again, hehe, I put in a CD player to go with my oem honda cassette player (which is entry/low level alpine if you didn't know). I got it from H and A and put it into where the pocket was in my Lx in about 45 minutes...I had to go to advance to get a damn 8mm socket though! my kit only goes down to 10 mm. So, add a OEM honda CD player to my mods......

I put on my stock intake today and it sucked. I drove around for 5 min and i took it off. I would have wasted the money i spent on my car anyway so why not spend it on something that i like.
